ARAYAT - A 79 year-old man was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Arenas here over the weekend.
Superintendent Samual Sevilla, this town's police chief, identified the victim as Emiliano Canlas, a resident here.
Sevilla said Canlas was killed in front of a vulcanizing shop where he was waiting for his motorcycle’s wheels to be fixed.
“Ayon sa mga witnesses, nakaupo lang daw ang biktima nang biglang lapitan ng dalawang lalaki na nakasakay sa motor tapos binaril na,” Sevilla said.
The suspects, who were allegedly wearing helmets, immediately fled after shooting the victim.
Sevilla said they were still investigating to establish the identities of the gunmen the motive behind the killing.
