SAN SIMON - “I will seek the justice deserved by a friend, a colleague and a dedicated public servant who lost his meaningful life to unscrupulous individuals.”
Thus said Mayor Leonora Wong referring to three-term councilor Emelito Yambao who was killed Thursday morning, November 16, by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen at his residence in Sitio Duyong, Barangay Concepcion here.
Wong told Sun.Star Pampanga that she immediately alerted the local police when she heard about the incident.
The mayor added that she also sought the assistance of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office for the possible identification and arrest of the criminals.
I immediately called the police. However, the riding-in-tandem criminals who gunned him down were fast. But I said we will not stop until we get justice for the family),” she said.
Wong has condemned the series of assaults and killings of local officals in her town.
She said she has directed the local police to double their efforts to maintain the peace and order in this town.
The death of the 56 year-old Yambao was reportedly the third incident perpetrated by suspects on motorcycles in broad daylight.
Wong said she directed the local police to expedite the investigation into Yambao's killing.
