De la Cruz’s ashes to be transferred to DSB Wednesday

THE ashes of former Negros Occidental First District Board Member Nehemias de la Cruz will be transferred to his hometown of Don Salvador Benedicto Wednesday.

De la Cruz, a former town mayor, died on March 20 this year.

His eldest brother Moises de la Cruz said they will bring his ashes from their house in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City to Villa Ika in Don Salvador Benedicto.

It is a hilly place and it was his wish to be buried there, his brother said.

Family members led by his wife former Mayor Cynthia de la Cruz built a mausoleum for him, he added.

The town is headed by the late board member’s son, Mayor Marxlen de la Cruz. (GYM)
