Shining holidays at Marco Polo Davao

IT'S shining!

Davao City Christmas will be incomplete without the lighted “Happy Holidays” greetings placed on top of the Marco Polo Davao Hotel building. It has become a Christmas landmark in the city and seeing it makes Christmas feels more alive.

Marco Polo Davao shines brighter as it formally launched last November 17 its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony led by General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin, Mrs. Virginia Anderson and Major General Noel Clement of the 10th Infantry Division.

This year, the hotel building and lobby was dressed up with the theme “Shining Holidays.”

Shining the hotel hallway and the 12-feet sized Christmas tree are native ornaments in gold and white.

Marco Polo Davao made the event more meaningful as it launched its Corporate Social Responsibility activity which is Bangon Marawi donation drive. Guests who want to help in the rehabilitation of Marawi City can take part by hanging a Christmas Star to be named after the donor.

“Christmas is a season of great joy: a time for remembering the past and hoping for the future. May this lighting ceremony be a symbol of hope to our country and a reminder to us that we can be an instrument of bringing lightness to the darkest moments of our fellow Filipinos.” Wurgler-Cronin said.

Marco Polo Davao’s lighting ceremony was attended by Department of Tourism Regional Director Robbie Alabado, Councilor Bernie Al-ag, Davao City Tourism’s Generose Tecson, Davao Tourism Association, Hijos de Davao Foundation, JCI Davaoeña Daba-Daba and JCI Davao Inc., friends from the media and partners from the corporate and private sector.

The event was full of Holiday cheer as the Melodies of Marco Polo Davao with its choir director Jeremy Sarmiento sang their rendition of popular Christmas songs. The Melodies are composed of the talented Marco Polo Davao associates - Soprano: Tang Jabilles, Girlie Junsay, Jeline Gison, Princess Barsalote; Alto: Sally Tungpalan, Sarah Mama, Merian Que, Fatima Palma, Cherry Milgo, Marian Bongcawel; Tenor: Stephen Duguiles, Christopher Tiozon, Mac Bague, Ephraim Pandoy, Gideon Sencil and Lawrence Ibarra.
