Infant’s body found in Mananga River, Talisay

A LIFELESS premature baby was found in the Mananga River in Talisay City, Cebu last Tuesday afternoon.

A resident, said to be the grandfather of the baby, got the body out of the river with his fishing net.

He told investigators that they found the mother’s placenta in their bathroom earlier that day.

He believes that the baby belonged to his 18-year-old daughter who gave birth at 7 a.m. last Tuesday.

PO1 Janeth Marquez of the Talisay City Police Station said a complaint for infanticide will be filed against the mother. (Aubrey Rose J. Secuya, USJ-R Intern)
