PLDT donates 10 computers to DCPO

PLDT on Wednesday, November 22, donated ten computer units to the Davao City Police Office-Traffic Group to address the growing demand to technology in their operations.

PLDT Davao Customer Service Operation Zone head Alan Abrina in an interview on Wednesday said the ten computer units turned over are part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

"It is part of our CSR activity wherein we support government offices like Philippine National Police, Department of Interior and Local Government, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, 11 (Davao) Regional Community Defense Corps, and military," Albrina said.

He added they are doing this because these agencies are their business partners as they also provide assistance whenever they conduct activities in many parts of the city.

"Since naga-grow ang demand for technology we extend help up to the level sa nag-request (Since the demand for technology is growing we extend to help, up to the level of those who make requests)," Abrina said.

Police Supertintendent Ernesto Castillo Chief of Traffic Group said these ten computer units will be helpful in their office because there is a huge volume of records of traffic accidents.

"Ito ay ilalagay namin mismo sa office ng traffic group kasi we have five investigators dapat sila may hawak ng computers. Also for the operation and the intel, and also the administrative operations, lahat nang section lalagyan ng computer para lahat ito ay magkaroon ng connection para sa reporting ng ating cases," Castillo said.

He added that the computer will also be great help easily sending reports to the higher headquarters.
