During the opening rites on Wednesday, an organic movement leader in Asia lauded Negros Occidental for its strong initiatives on the natural farming practice.

Dr. Zhou Zejiang, president of the Asia Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement, said the Capitol’s organic festival is the longest-running farmers festival in the world, adding that the province is "very much integrated" to the organic movement.

Themed “Go Organic for Health and Prosperity,” the four-day event also showcases sustainable innovations and technologies practiced by different farmer-producers and advocates.
