City of San Fernando holds Taxpayers Symposium

THE San Fernando City Government, through its City Treasurer’s Office, held the annual Taxpayers Symposium on November 23 at the Heroes Hall.

The activity was attended by business establishment owners and corporations in the City of San Fernando.

City Treasurer Officer Mary Ann Bautista said the aim of this annual symposium is to discuss and inform taxpayers regarding on the city’s tax collection process, local revenue and assessment for the next year.

“Sa ganitong paraan, napapaalalahanan natin yung mga taxpayers natin kung ano yung mga pamamaraan sa collection, and at the same time nalalaman din nila kung paano natin ginagamit yung mga taxes sa mga Fernandino,” Bautista said.

City Planning and Development Office Project Development Officer Chryzl Sicat discussed and presented the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Integrated Land Use and Comprehensive Plan to achieve a sustainable and livable city.

The City Treasurer’s Office, led by Bautista, took part in informing the city collection update and targets. She also urged the businessmen to file income tax payments earlier.

City Assessor Officer-in-Charge Luz Bautista explained the upcoming property assessment updates that will be implemented for next year.

Lastly, Business License and Permit Division Chief Joseph Garcia explained the procedures and requirements regarding on applying business permits.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin Santiago stressed the importance of paying taxes conscientiously for the betterment of the city. He said the stakeholders play an integral part in the society to strengthen the economy of the city.

“Kayo po bilang mga taxpayers ng ating lungsod ay ang aming mga haligi para mapatatag pa ang ating lokal na ekonomiya at magkaroon ng mas mahusay na kapasidad ang Syudad San Fernando sa pagsasagawa ng mga sustainable programs. Hinihikayat ko kayo na makiisa sa amin para sa ating mga adhikain sa ating lungsod,” Santiago said. (PR)
