Law enforcement operation nets 3 persons

THREE people were arrested by joint Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police forces in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Saturday.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Fedmar Suminguit, 41; Rodel Tairos, 32; and, Ramark Gilbero, 22.

Galvez said they were arrested by way of service of warrants of arrest around 5 a.m. Friday in the village of Nangca, Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte.

She said two of the suspects--Suminguit and Tairos--have standing warrants of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

She added that Gilbero was arrested on the strength of warrant of arrest for murder.

She said the suspects were taken to Tangub City, Misamis Occidental to face the charges filed against them in court. All of the three are residents of Mangga village Tangub City.

She said the suspects were arrested by joint PDEA operatives of Zamboanga del Norte and Misamis Occidental and policemen from Rizal town and Regional Maritime Unit-9. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
