Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Ma. Teresita Gaspan said that the random inspection in different areas in Davao City nabbed six individuals who have standing warrants of arrest because of various serious criminal cases.

Senior Inspector Gaspan identified these arrested suspects as Glenn Albano for frustrated murder; Robert B. Relacion for murder; Erick P. Rulete for Violation of City Ordinance No. 0367-12 or the Anti-Smoking Ordinance; Jerry Joseph for Theft; Arnold T. Bucol for rape and acts of lasciviousness and Allan Feliciano Corpuz for murder.

The series of operations also resulted in the profiling of 1,657 individual residents who were requested for questioning. Of this figure, there were 1,311 individuals with identification cards (IDs) while 346 transient residents without IDs. Two of these are internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Marawi City.

Gaspan said that the simultaneous surprise operation started at 6 a.m. on November 24 together with joint security forces and law enforcement units. This composed of DCPO with Task Force (TF) Davao, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Crime Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) and Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU).

The counter-terrorism efforts were launched in the areas under Police Station (PS1) in Barangay Leon Garcia and Sta Ana; Barangay 76-A and San Pedro for PS2; Saavedra Village, Bago Aplaya and Talomo for PS3; Km 12 and Sasa for PS4; Block 10, San Jose, Carmelite Road and Buhangin for PS5; Purok 14, Tibungko and Bunawan for PS6; Barangay Lizada and Toril forPS8; Purok 12, IKP Village, Barangay Tacunan and Tugbok for PS9; and Abayon Village and Calinan for PS10.

The crosschecking and background checks of the personalities showed negative involvement with militant rebels who sowed terror in Marawi City.

The regular operation was part of the security measures carried out by authorities to prevent spillover after the war in Marawi City as well as to ensure that none of the terrorist groups will be able to enter the city and pose security threat.
