Jay R, Kyla share ‘hugot’ in Muzic’s Kool’s anniversary concert

RNB artists Jay R and Kyla rocked Muzic’s Kool’s 4th anniversary celebration last November 18 at The Tent at Azuela Cove in Davao City with several “hugot” lines and advices.

Both the Kapamilya singers shared some of their inspiring stories when it comes to love, as they drew emotions and pulled out some antics that the audience could relate to.

First to go onstage was the 36-year-old RnB King of the Philippine music industry, who was vocal with his love for Davao.

“Ang sarap dito sa Davao! Ang sarap ng pagkain. It’s so nice to see you here,” he said in his opening spiel, as he assured everyone that it was going to be “a great show tonight kaya expect the best of the best.”

Among the songs he rendered to his Dabawenyo fans were his original songs “Parachute” and “Bakit Pa Ba,” “No One Else Comes Close” of Joe, “One Hundred Ways” of James Ingram, and his newest single “Kabilang Dako,” which is now available on iTunes and Spotify.

After singing “No One Else Comes Close,” Jay R related the song to Davao City, which, according to him, is truly exceptional.

“Totoo ‘yan. No one comes close to Davao, especially when it comes to music. Karamihan sa mga magagaling na musikero ay galing sa Davao. South Border pa lang, eh,” he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Kyla was armed with some love advice when she came up on stage.

“Mayroon akong advice. Sa mga naghahanap ng forever, medyo maging choosy naman tayo,” she said before doing her own cover of “Havana” by Camila Cabello.

The 36-year-old artist also performed live a remix of “On the Wings of Love” and “Till I Met You,” both of which were official soundtrack (OST) of the soap opera of James Reid and Nadine Lustre with the Kapamilya Network.

Aside from love advice, Kyla also had some “hugot” about those who seem to be happy in bashing others.

“Kapag singer ka, marami kang basher. Ewan ko ba kung bakit,” she said. “I have already learned to stop reading anything online. Iyong iba-brush off mo na lang. Pero naniniwala ako na ‘yong mga gumagawa ng hindi maganda sa’yo ay makakarma din sila.”

“Para sa kanilang lahat ‘to. Akala nila ha!” she continued prior to performing “Sorry Not Sorry” of Demi Lovato.

Of course, their fans never allowed them to end the night without seeing them perform together. Jay R and Kyla did a duet of “Say That You Love Me” of Martin Nievera and “Rather Be” of Clean Bandit.

The RnB artists’ newest show here was supported by Abreeza Mall, Damosa Land, Anflocor, Cameo Events, Davao International Container Terminal, Inc. (DICT), Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Tadeco, LED OSVM, Seda Abreeza Hotel, The August Portfolio, Microtel by Wyndham Davao, and Parking Space.

With them around, it was truly a happy 4th anniversary for Muzic’s Kool.
