OMB-Minda achieves zero backlog in requests

THE Office of the Ombudsman in Mindanao (OMB-Min) has ensured zero backlog in the disposition of all the request for assistance and clearance applications filed before the office.

Data obtained from the Ombudsman stated that the office had 3,566 total workload in the request for assistance and other forms of assistance both in the area and regional offices from January to October this year.

Of the total workload in the request for assistance and other forms of assistance, 95 percent or 3,400 requests were acted upon and disposed, leaving only 166 requests pending by the end of the period, October 31.

As to the clearance applications, the Ombudsman in Mindanao received 2,322 applications as of September 30, 2017, of which 99 percent of the clearance were promptly issued, leaving only 13 applications for action.

The Ombudsman also conducted 21 Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in Public Service (Itaps) trainings, for its corruption prevention activities, benefitting 1,249 participants here in Mindanao.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales earlier aimed a zero backlog at the Office of the Ombudsman before she steps down in 2018. She had instructed its offices to attend to all cases, including the request for assistance.
