Rachel Peters ends Miss Universe journey

RACHEL Peters of the Philippines ended her Miss Universe journey after failing to advance in the top 5 during the coronation night held on Sunday (Monday, Philippine time) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Peters advanced to the top 16 through wildcard and was able to join the swimsuit and evening gown competitions.

In her latest Instagram post, Peters said she learned so much about herself in her Miss Universe’s journey.

“One more sleep!! @missuniverse Thank you for a truly amazing experience. I've learnt so much about myself these last few days and have made many wonderful friends that no matter what happens tomorrow, I already feel like a winner! Philippines, it's been such an honor to wear THE sash and to represent you. You've all been incredible (it blows my mind) and you've all done you're part.. now it's time for me to do mine! MAHAL KO PO KAYONG LAHAT,” she said.

Fellow beauty queens, celebrities and fans were quick to post their congratulatory messages for the former on social media.

The other candidates who made it to top 10 were Keysi Sayago of Venezuela, Kara McCullough of USA, Lauren Howe of Canada, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa, Sofia del Prado of Spain, Monalisa Alcantara of Brazil, Laura Gonzalez of Colombia, Maria Poonlertlarp of Thailand, and Davina Bennett of Jamaica.

The representatives of South Africa, Venezuela, Thailand, Jamaica and Colombia advanced to the top 5.

Jamaica, Colombia, and South Africa advanced to the top 3.
