Motorcycle riding gunman kills businesswoman

THE police are conducting an in-depth investigation to unmask the lone gunman behind the gun slay of a businesswoman in Isabela City, Basilan province.

The police said the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Purok Rosary in the village of Sumagdang, Isabela City.

The victim was identified as Sapura Muluk Abdua, 52, who sustained two gunshot wounds and died instantaneously.

Investigation showed that Abdua was tending her store when the suspect, driving a motorcycle, appeared and shot the victim twice.

The police said the suspect immediately sped off. Two empty shells and a slug of caliber .45 pistol were found at the crime scene.

All possible motives are being looked into in a bid to establish the identity and possible arrest of the suspect, the police added. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
