Pampanga donates lantern to Davao City

IN TIME for the celebration of Pasko Fiesta, the Province of Pampanga donated a giant Christmas lantern to Davao City, an official said.

Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO), in an interview with SunStar Davao, said the 15ft Christmas lantern, which weighs around 1,000 kilograms and decked with 1,700 bulbs, will be mounted near the City Council.

Tecson said aside from the lantern, the province of Pampanga will also donate two computerized sequencer to operate the movement of lights of the lantern.

Tecson said that the lantern is especially made for Davao as it bears a Kadayawan inspired design.

She added that arrangements were made for the shipping of the lantern to the city.

Tecson added that she is hopeful that the lantern could be installed before the official lighting ceremony on Friday, December 1.

Tecson said technical persons from Pampanga will also be sent to Davao to help operate the Christmas lantern.
