CLARK FREEPORT -- The township project of Megaworld Corporation’s in the City of San Fernando is expected to generate 250,000 jobs for the Kapampangans.
This was stated by Eugene EM Lozano, First Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Megaworld Pampanga, during a Christmas Party the developer prepared for select Pampanga newsmen at Park Inn by Radisson Clark Wednesday night.
Lozano said that Capital Town Pampanga, which the Megaworld’s first integrated urban township in the North, was introduced six month ago.
Capital Town Pampanga is envisioned to be the premier central business district of the North which is expected to provide a venue to showcase Kapampangan talents, according to him.
“With this upcoming investment of Megaworld Corporation in this city (San Fernando), we expect to generate around 250,000 direct and indirect jobs in the business process outsourcing, transport, retail, food and construction sectors, among others, all for the people of Pampanga,” Lozano said.
The Megaworld executive cited the national and local government effort to develop the province in terms of infrastructure projects including the Clark International Airport.
“The province is also poised for further development as the national and local government look to develop a master plan for better transportation with the planned improvement of the international airport and construction of a high-speed train system to the province,” he said.
Megaworld has received an overwhelming number of inquiries from top BPO companies interested to set up operations inside Capital Town Pampanga, according to Lozano.
He added that Capital Town shall rise to embody Megaworld’s signature lifestyle concept of “Live-Work-Play and Learn” in one vibrant location after another.
“It is the 21st integrated urban township in its portfolio, as we continue to build visions and self-sustaining communities for 28 years and counting, carrying the vision of Dr. Andrew L. Tan,” Lozano said.
The 35.6-hectare, 10 year development plan will integrate residential, office, commercial, retail, and institutional components, he added.
Megaworld’s other unique features like Rainwater Park – a catchment basin for storm water, a museum and a mall to honor Pasudeco’s glorious past, a Casa Emperador, and a Central Square are the things to look forward to inside the Capital Town, Lozano said.
Megaworld Corporation already started marketing the first component of Capital Town which is the Shophouse District, which is composed of commercial lots that will highlight the local unique business concepts in one setting.
“Just like in the beautiful cities of Europe, it will evoke of neoclassical architecture with art deco details. There will also be places for civic purposes, such as the Events Trade Hall, an outdoor amphitheater and other complimentary features like tribute statues of Kapampangan heroes, native trees comparable to Japan’s cherry blossoms, and cobblestone streets,” Lozano said.
He also disclosed that the response of their market has been “overwhelmingly positive.”
“The take-up exceeded our expectations as we also saw a lot of interest from both the local market as well as those coming from Manila, Quezon City, Makati, and more in which we appreciate the media’s support in communicating our vision out there,” Lozano said.
Land development at Capital Town started this year and Megaworld is preparing to launch the other components of the project in the near future, he added.
