New registrants beat deadline

THE Cebu Provincial Election Office is expecting more than 10,000 voters to officially register after the last day of registration.

Cebu Provincial Election Supervisor Lionel Marco Castillano said that as of last Wednesday, around 5,000 new voters had registered in different election offices across the Province, including the component cities.

Castillano said they were hoping to end by 3 p.m. yesterday, but due to the long lines in some election offices, some of their election officers opted to extend their cut-off.

Castillano said they would continue accepting new registrants until 12 a.m., if there are no more long lines. (JKV)
