FIVE drug personalities in the Cordillera region were collared in Baguio City and Benguet by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Anti–narcotics agents first arrest Milo Dayao Fernando alias Pangkis, 45 years old, native of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija and currently residing at Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Fernando was busted after selling 17 heat sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu to an undercover PDEA agent. Authorities recovered P6,000 drug bust money and a mobile phone.
PDEA said the suspect is a known drug trader at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post.
In Baguio City, two young drug dealers fell into hands of drug enforcement agents in a sting operation along Happy Glenn Loop, Barangay Salud Mitra
Jhaniel Dale Foronda, 25 years old, former drug surrenderer and Rodolf John Carandang alias Rj, 22 years old were nabbed for selling two big sachets of marijuana stalks to an undercover PDEA agent.
Both suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-Cordillera jail facility pending the filing of a criminal case for violation of the provisions of Republic Act Number 9165 otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
Two more drug dealers were arrested along Regidor Street, Pacdal.
The suspects were identified as Joshua Aluyen Alsisto alias Pidot, 24 years old, a resident of Lower Malvar, Trancoville and Jan Michael de Guzman Kenneth alias JM de Guzman, 31 years old, a resident of Badihoy Street, Ferguson Road who were both cuffed for selling a heat sealed sachet containing suspected shabu to an undercover agent.
The sting operation yielded buy-bust money, a weighing scale and two mobile phones and are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-Cordillera jail facility pending the filing of a criminal case.
Despite the lean manpower of PDEA-Cordillera, the anti-drug agency said it will continue to perform its mandate as the lead agency in the war against dangerous drugs.
