DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio switched on Friday on the different Christmas lights and opened some landmarks of the city.

The city mayor led the launch of the Botanical Garden in Marfori heights, one of the additional parks she mentioned during her State of the City Address (Soca) last September.

A blessing and prayers were offered by Father Bong Gonzaga.

The set of lights donated by Phillips Lights at People's Park was switched on by the mayor and after that, she also launched the centennial park re-opening in front of the Sangguniang Panlungsod building.

The Christmas lights decoration which was installed by the city hall workers in the past weeks was also formally switched on by the city mayor yesterday evening.

The Christmas lighting marks the opening of the Pasko Fiesta Celebration.

Aside from these festivities, the mayor yesterday also launched the PagbaBAGO, that included the ceremonial giving of bags to two kids, and after that, she also led the cutting of the ribbon for the Children's Play Park Opening at People's Park.
