'Biyaya ng Pagbabago' to be launched at People’s Park

THE Office of the President will launch "Biyaya ng Pagbabago," a program that aims to bring the various poverty alleviation programs of the national government to the communities to reach the people down to the grassroots level at the People’s Park in Davao City on December 9.

According to Undersecretary Joselito Libres of the Office of Participatory Governance under the Office of the Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco, this program aims to gather all the agencies under the Office of the President to bring the different services in one venue.

The caravan will commence in Luzon, pass through Metro Manila, then Bicol, Visayas and then Mindanao. While on their way here, there will also be short programs to be conducted.

It is a multisectoral and inter-agency effort, including civil society groups, to boost the public’s awareness on the government’s services.

In the morning of December 9, there will be several booths to be installed at the various agencies under the Office of the President including the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), National Housing Authority (NHA), and National Irrigation Administration (NIA), among others.

A rally will also take place in the afternoon wherein no less than President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to grace the activity together with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Secretary Evasco.

With this, the public is invited to attend the activity to be well-informed of the services and programs of the government and how they can avail of these.

Libres said that the programs are there already, however, the public do not have enough information where and how they can avail these. Thus, this program will address their concerns.

The activity will also cater to those who complains on the services of the government or officials as there will be a booth where they can report the grievances to a certain department.

The activity is also in partnership with the Kilusang Pagbabago (KP), a pro-Duterte mass movement, which pushes for the communities’ awareness of the programs of the President and supports its poverty alleviation programs, criminality and anti-drugs for the realization of the objectives of Philippine development plan (PDP) 2017-22.
