Ex-RPA man shot in Kabankalan City

A FORMER member of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) was shot by three other active members of the group at Sitio Garol, Barangay Tampalon in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Thursday morning.

The victim was identified as Sunny Tapdasan, 42, who is also considered as a drug personality.

Armed with two .45 caliber pistols, Tapdasan came to the house of Sylvia Diosmaparan and threatened her while asking about the whereabouts of her husband Joseph Diosmaparan and his two companions Julie Mutas Jr. and Junnifer Meniel, all members of RPA-ABB, records from Kabankalan City Police Station showed.

When the three RPA-ABB members arrived, Tapdasan fired at Mutas and a certain “Lucibar,” an alleged drug suspect, prompting both to retaliate.

Mutas and his companions were unharmed. Tapdasan was hit and was brought to a hospital in Bacolod City.

Police recovered three deformed fired cartridges and two fired cartridges of .45 caliber pistol.

Based on reports, Tapdasan accused Diosmaparan’s wife of spying on him and informing the RPA-ABB members of his whereabouts.

Security guard hurt

A security guard of a furniture shop in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City was hurt by three robbers early Friday morning.

Senior Inspector Jun Ray Batadlan, head of Police Station 3, said Joselito Abella, 51, was asleep when the assailants entered the shop at 3:30 a.m.

The assailants, armed with a shotgun, .45 caliber pistol, and .38 caliber revolver, hit him with a firearm and tied his hands. They also took his. 38 caliber revolver.

They told the six other male workers who slept on the second floor to go downstairs. They were unharmed.

The robbers did not take anything except for the two wrist watches of the security guard. They left the establishment on board a tricycle.
