TAPA King, an established Filipino food chain in the country is targeting to open more stores in Mindanao as part of its rapid expansion and marketing thrust, promising a more improved quality of food and excellent services for their loyal customers.
Sandro Gonzales, Tapa King executive vice president for operations, said that their effort now is gearing towards spreading and advancing its presence in Mindanao; thus, they get an endorser in the person of Sebastian “Baste” Duterte from Mindanao to be their brand representative who is fitting to carry the banner of TK.
“As we expand our presence in Mindanao, we wanted someone who completely embodies the way we serve food,” he said. “We are also planning to expand in other areas. This whole campaign is focus really on expansion in Mindanao. That is why we chose somebody from Mindanao, somebody who is very relatable.”
To date, they have already five stores in Mindanao. Three of which are in Davao City located in SM Ecoland, Quirino Street, and San Pedro Square while two are in Cagayan de Oro at Divisoria and Elipe. Aside from their stores, they also have Budget Tapa King Kiosk branches at Maa, Caliclic, Cabaguio, Iligan City and Cotabato.
“Baste has authentic Filipino grit, the kind who eats without pretenses. What you see is what you get with him, which is essentially what we are,” Gonzales added.
In 2018, Tapa King plans to expand its product offerings that the customers will have an array of options to choose from with continues innovations for new food trends that suits the cravings of the market. TK has a wide-range of delectable Filipino cuisine including Kare-Kare, Bulalo, Pinakbet, Smoked Bangus, Crispy Liempo as well as its best premium tapa meals in the country and a lot more at a very affordable price.
Tapa King prides itself to be the top choices of Filipinos when it comes to home-cooked meals that have hold a place in Filipinos’ hearts. Since the opening of the first TK store in Davao in 2015, the fast food chain has been a favorite go-to of Dabawenyos and visitors alike for its homey dining experience.
For his part, Baste Duterte said that he found himself indulging to TK’s menu considering that he is also fond of home-cooked meals.
“Pagdating sa pagkain, I’m the type who enjoys what I want, kahit sa’n pa man ‘yan. Wala nang arte-arte. The best for me ‘pag relax lang, when it makes me feel at home. ‘Yun ang gusto ko sa Tapa King – ‘yung parang may lutong-bahay kang mauuwian,” Baste adds.
When asked about his favorite, Baste cites the Tapa King as his go-to, with its best-tasting Bulalo and Tapa Flakes, served with garlic rice, sunny side up egg, and atchara.
