IT WAS a night of beauty, wit and grace!
Twenty-two gorgeous young ladies from 19 towns and three cities in Pampanga were presented before the members of the media last Wednesday during the preliminary competition of Mutya Ning Kapampangan (MNK) 2017 held at the SM City Clark Event Center in Clark Freeport Zone.
The MNK 2017 started by self-introduction of candidates and the town/city they represent. Wearing colorful floral, knee-length skater dress, the hourglass figure of the lovely ladies were highlighted.
The stage then sizzled when candidates modeled a one-piece, black swimsuit with a see-through shawl overlay designed by Mak Tumang, a young Kapampangan designer known for his eclectic and elaborate works.
After the fashion show, the candidates had a chance to speak their mind when members of the media asked several questions such as how they will promote the province, their personal definition of an empowered woman, describe Pampanga in one word as well as the candidates’ passion and advocacies, among others.
This year’s Mutya Ning Kapampangan is chaired by Board Member Ananias Canlas, Jr.
“Kapampangans truly exude beauty and confidence,” said Canlas.
He also thanked Governor Lilia Pineda, Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda and the Provincial Board, sponsors, candidates and their parents for supporting the preliminary competition of the Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2017.
Pampanga, distinguished as the oldest province in the country, will be observing its 446st foundation known as “Aldo Ning Kapampangan” on December 11 which is a special non-working holiday in the province by virtue of Proclamation No. 2226.
The pageant is one of the highlights of the 446th Aldo Ning Kapampangan (Pampanga Day).
On December 10 (Sunday) at 7 p.m., the much-awaited coronation night of the Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2017 will be held at Laus Group Event Centre, City of San Fernando.
