Mercado: Duterte can sire a Solomon

WHEN God is pleased with a man, He takes him to his glorious destiny.

Such is the story of the humble shepherd boy, David, slingshot killer of Goliath the giant.

Events transpired in ancient Israel that conspired to bring David to the throne.

One day after a mid-day’s nap King David went to his chamber’s window to enjoy the idyllic scenery. Down below by the garden well, a lovely maiden was taking a bath. In those biblical times, women removed their clothes unlike our Filipino women in the rural areas of today who while clothed in duster used the “tabo” to rinse themselves in public wells.

The King was both disturbed and delighted of what he saw. The lady Bathsheba was taking a bath. She was ordered brought to him. Soon, they ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of evil and good. Soon, their son Solomon was born.

After he succeeded his father to the throne, Solomon became the wisest and strongest of the nation’s rulers. He conquered many nations and his army never lost a battle. He sought God’s guidance in his prayer, “punish the guilty one as he deserves and acquit the one who is innocent.” His famous decision was that of the two prostitute women who were fighting for the possession of an infant.

Now, the present problems of the Philippines have persisted without long lasting solutions. The country needs a leader of Solomonic wisdom.

I am certain with the angels of the Lord advising a Solomon-type of leader, he will be guided on what to do with the drug problem, of graft and corruption, the secessionist problem in the South, the dissidence and terrorism in the land.

We need a Filipino Solomon to revise the nation’s criminal justice system,

prevent street crimes, bring peace and order, protect against foreign intrusion of our seas, advance agrarian reform. He shall protect OFWs and workers from exploitation, assure citizens of food security, increase jobs and employment. He will know what to do with a proposed Revolutionary government, impeachments, and taxation.

These are only a fraction of our day to day problems, including the transport (MRTirik) jeepney phase-out troubles and extrajudicial cleansing.

The drug problem occupies the chief priority of President Duterte. It is unlikely he will see its complete decimation in his time. With the mounting troubles of the nation-- all demanding unparalleled wisdom and divine guidance to solve-- what we need is a Filipino Solomon. All what is required is to replicate Bathsheba or lady of integrity taking a garden bath, unrobed and majestic in the sunlight, with the President as accidental viewer.

Now you ask me some names of attractive women who might fulfill the fantasies of Pang. Digong, a “king” in the making. He is especially attracted to two widows who distract him during public ceremonies. He loves the pretty knees of VP Leni, and is disturbed by the beauty of Agriculture Usec. Berna Romulo vda. de Puyat. He has admired her integrity and admitted his excitement with the sight of her crossed legs.

She would make an ideal First Lady, he said.
