Hearing foundation to train 6 city workers

SIX plantilla employees of Davao City Health Office (CHO) will be trained by the personnel from Starkey Hearing Foundation today for the aftercare program intended for 1,300 Dabawenyos who were able to receive hearing aids last week.

Davao City Health Officer Josephine Villafuerte told SunStar Davao that Starkey will teach the personnel on how to conduct the aftercare.

"By Monday, the Starkey is going to teach them the aftercare because they will handle it," Villafuerte said.

She added that this training will be done so that the recipients can come to their office to seek help should they encounter problem with their hearing aids.

"We can also call them to check the condition of their hearing aids, if they have problems with it," Villafuerte said.

She added that the recipients can consult through phone.

"They have our number printed on their identification cards," she said.

The United States-based foundation has distributed P98-million worth of hearing aids to Dabawenyos as part of the second phase of their Davao City mission last November 27 to 30.
