HMR Philippines Inc. launched last Dec. 1 their special Visa card as part of a co-branding partnership between the company and Unionbank.
HMR Trading Haus collaborated with the bank, part of the Aboitiz group, to offer the card because they wanted to heed a proposal that many customers have made.
Sam Powell, HMR Philippines Inc. CEO, also said they wanted to grow more opportunities for their clientele and felt “comfortable in partnering” with Unionbank.
The co-branded card will allow shoppers to enjoy five percent “cash back” on all their retail spending, a P1 reward for every P200 in purchases, and various discounts.
Customers with HMR-Unionbank Visa will get a five-percent discount on selected HMR items, as well as exclusive deals at HMR that will be updated every two months, said Ana Aboitiz Delgado, deputy head for consumer finance at Unionbank.
The card is accepted worldwide, wherever Visa is honored, and customers can avail themselves of a lifetime waiver of annual fees if they sign up for the card before Jan. 25, 2018.
During the launching at the SM Hypermart in Mandaue City, the brand partners offered customers a chance to win an Aptus 32” TV as a raffle prize if they availed themselves of the Visa card. Exclusive deals for all Unionbank credit card holders include 50 percent off on Gazebo tents, coolers and director’s chairs. Also on offer is 70 percent off on ladies’ leather shoes and boots.
Interested customers in Cebu may avail themselves of the Visa credit card at any Unionbank branch and HMR Trading Haus Cebu, which is located inside the SM Hypermart on Logarta Ave., Subangdaku in Mandaue City. (Liza Marie Caube, USJ-R intern)
