Dec. 8 & 11 are non-working holidays in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY -- The City Information Office (CIO) here has issued a public advisory stating that the city will join the province of Pampanga in celebrating the province’s 446th Aldo Ning Kapampangan (Pampanga Day).

The CIO stated stated in its Facebook page that pursuant to Proclamation Number 2226 Series of 1982 signed by then President Ferdinand marcos, December 11 of every year is declared a public holiday in the province.

“Being part of Pampanga, Angeles City is therefore deemed included and covered by the said presidential proclamation.

Aside from this, Angeles City will celebrate its 188th Foundation Day on Friday (December 8).

Republic Act 8315 declares December 8 of every year a special non-working holiday in the city.

In 1796, Don Angel Pantaleon De Miranda, then the town head of San Fernando and his wife, Dona Rosalia De Jesus found a new settlement North of Pampanga province which they named Culiat, an endemic vines in the area.

“In summary and for the information of all concerned, December 8, 2017 (Friday) and December 11, 2017 (Monday) are special non-working holidays in Angeles City in celebration of the city’s 188th and the province’s 446th foundation days respectively,” the City Information Office stated.
