Inspections on firms halted

TO MAKE sure that no Davao City Hall employees will solicit favors from business establishments this Christmas season, the Office of the City Mayor has ordered the temporary suspension for the conduct of inspections for all department offices from December 1 to January 2, 2018.

The memorandum, which was signed by Acting Davao City Administrator lawyer Tristan Dwight Domingo, was released last November 24 by the authority of the city mayor per executive order No. dated August 1, 2016.

"Effective December 1, 2017, until January 2, 2018, you are hereby instructed to temporarily suspend the conduct of inspections of whatever kind or nature by you respective offices. Monitoring activities however, continue but not include among others, visitations and/or direct contract with any or all business establishments," Domingo said.

He added that inspections to be conducted during aforementioned period shall only be on a case to case basis and with explicit order of approval of the city administrator or the city mayor.

"Any violation of the order shall be dealt accordingly," Domingo said.
