PROPERTY developer Duros Land Properties Inc. (DLPI) is spending P8 billion for the development of its first township project in Liloan.
Named Northside Beacon, the 200-hectare township project features a golf course, strip malls, condominium and house-and-lot projects.
Of the 200 hectares, 65 will be developed into a golf course, said Lydwena Eco, DPLI business director.
The company will also build a five-tower condominium project, 3,000 affordable house-and-lots and prime subdivision projects located near the golf course.
Operating inside the property, however, is Divine Life Institute, a grade school to senior high school education facility owned by the company.
“We felt the need to build a masterplanned community to integrate everything so it will have a story of its own,” said Eco in a phone interview yesterday.
The Duros Group of Companies is engaged in several businesses —real estate, construction, interior fabrication and manufacturing, property management, education, and food.
Northside Beacon is located along the central nautical highway in Yati, Liloan.
“It is envisioned to become the central residential-cum-business district and economic driver in the north for generations to come,” the company said in a statement.
Aside from unveiling the components of the township project, DPLI’s Liloan Golf Course announced yesterday its partnership with Brick and Wood Golf Club in Chiba, Japan.
Eco said this partnership gives members of the two golf clubs playing rights.
“We expect this partnership to generate more foreign arrivals, especially the Japanese golf enthusiasts, to come here,” said Eco, adding that Cebu is an ideal destination for golf tournaments because of its ideal weather.
Yesterday, the DPLI opened the golf course’s first five holes. The 18-hole golf course is slated for completion by the end of 2018.
Eco sees more buyers seeking properties outside the city, citing the traffic congestion and high property values in the metropolis as the main reasons.
DPLI is eyeing a longer time frame of up to 20 years to develop the entire project.
