Class 1997 bowlers top bracket qualifiers

CLASS 1997 bowling team is the top finisher as the bracket qualifying round ended in the ongoing 2017-2018 NOHSAAI Bowling Festival for Unity hosted by Negros Occidental High School Class ‘93 at Negros Super Lanes in Bacolod City.

Led by ace throwers Jozel Balontong and Karl Barbosa, the young guns emerged on top despite, scoring a dismal 430-490-484.

The Dannie Uguil-managed Class ‘97 gathered 7,167 pinfalls to spearhead Bracket A followed by Class ‘82 with 7,150 and Class ‘85 with 7,139.

Joining the competitive group are Class ‘94 - 7,136; Class ‘71 - 7,080; Class ‘96 - 7,016; Class ‘66 - 6,976; 2000up - 6,890; Class ‘90 - 6,889; and Golden - 6,850.

In other brackets, Class ‘95 anchored by Essho Garcia went down at number 11 with 6,809 to lead Bracket B while Class ‘92 with Rizal Labordo at the helm kept it close with 6,300 to head Bracket C.

Scores will reset to zero and teams must play another five scheduled games to determine the Top Five to play in the Stepladder Finals on January 27.

This five-man duckpin league is headed by director Alex Fantilanan of Class ‘93 under the leadership of alumni over-all chairman Citoy Taño.

Games are played every Saturday at 5 p.m. (HGD)
