Robbery group leader served arrest warrant

A LEADER of a robbery group in Bacolod City was served with an arrest warrant for frustrated murder at the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ)-Male Dormitory in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City Wednesday.

The detained subject was Alex Barredo of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.

The warrant was brought personnel of Investigation and Detection Management Group (IDMU) Tracker Team of the Bacolod City Police Office led by Superintendent Levy Pangue.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ana Celeste Bernad of Regional Trial Court Branch 44 in Bacolod City. The court has set a bail of P200,000 for his provisional liberty.

Barredo, who is allegedly connected to the notorious robbery group of Arnold “Aki” Cuadra, was arrested in a stakeout operation on 13th-Lacson Streets last October 2.

Barredo was involved in a shooting incident, victimizing a barker and an alleged drug runner in Barangay 23.

He was also involved in illegal drugs and robbery incidents in the cities of Bacolod and Silay.
