SINGER-SONGWRITER John Neil Roa held his "This is Home" concert on Friday, December 8, at The Stage in Elizabeth Mall, Cebu City.

Roa performed "Byahe" song from his "Byahe" album, which was released last year with 10 original songs and three bonus tracks. The album is available on Spotify.

He also sang "Di Ako Fuckboy", which he recorded with Emcee Rhenn and Agsunta in May this year.

He also performed Justin Bieber's "Never say Never", "One Time", Shawn Mendez's "Treat You Better", Matisyahu's "One Day", and "Dati" by Sam Concepcion, Tippy Dos Santos and Quest.

He also thanked the people who supported him in his journey, especially his parents, who were very hands-on with his concert preparations.

"Kung wala sila, wala ning bataa diri nagbarog sa inyong atubangan karun (If not for them, there will never be a kid standing here on stage in front of you now)," he said in his closing speech.

Other social media personalities who joined Roa were Emcee Rhen, King Badger, Jelai Andres and Sachzna Laparan, Malaya Macaraeg, Jude Pastor, Yad Robal, Babing, Kenning Gugma Kho, Loop PH, Chiefrockas, and DFC All Stars.

Roa in an interview with SunStar said that at 16 years old he decided to leave Cebu to pursue a music career in Manila.

"Since 9 years old, music[ally-inclined] na gyud ko," he said, adding that although he originally loved dancing, he started focusing on singing, first at church and in their living room prior to joining singing competitions.

The 17-year-old Roa was first widely known as a quarterfinalist on the fourth season of "Pilipinas Got Talent" in 2013, which was aired on ABS-CBN.

He also appeared in reality and singing contests such as TV-5's "Talentadong Pinoy" in 2010 and ABS-CBN's "Tawag ng Tanghalan" in 2016.

Roa was also part of a local group named "Bae's Next Door" in 2015.

Roa also joined Ex Battalion Music but eventually left the group to pursue a solo career.

Roa went viral after he and Matt Lubid released "Tatlong Bibe" RnB cover in 2016.

Roa said he is currently working on upcoming projects, including writing Cebuano songs to promote Visayan Pop (VisPop), and will have more surprises for his fans come January next year.

He added that he will continue to be an inspiration to his fans, all aspiring musicians, and dreamers.

"Keep following your dreams. Be patient. Trust yourself and God, and never forget to look back at where you started. Never [be] afraid to take risks. Don’t allow waiting [to be] a habit, cause life is happening now," Roa said when asked about his message to aspiring musicians.
