KILOS Pederal sa Pagbabago (KPP) said that despite the countless oppositions against the revolutionary government that is currently being pushed, they said that more rallies will be conducted to convince the President to declare such to expedite the facilitation of changes that the government is aiming for.
Speaking during Monday’s Kapehan sa Dabaw at The Annex of SM City Davao, KPP member Architect Chito R. Gavino III said that they are pushing for the revolutionary government to create reform in the constitutional process that hampers the government programs as well as to fast track the imposition of a federal government.
“Clearly, the RevGov (revolutionary government) thing is not just a passing fancy. Expect bigger and louder pro-RevGOv rallies in the coming months,” he said.
He also cited the statement of former secretary Romulo Neri that “the main rationales for these measures are to minimize implementation of delays which are severely costly. An advisory and consultative council with representatives from each province will be convened to replace the existing legislative bodies as a transition measures.”
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier said that while he appreciate the effort of his supporters, he will not declare a revolutionary government unless there’s a need and a destabilization plot is being crafted to oust him from his post. However, the president sees no need to declare one now.
Gavino also slammed Vice President Leni Robredo on her statement that some people do not understand the implication of a revolutionary government.
“How naïve is the assessment of our Vice President on what’s happening now in our country. She’s like an ostrich sticking her head into the sand so as not to see the approaching storm of change in the horizon,” he said.
He also said, “The Filipino people are at a point when we have to choose between different courses of action. This is brought about by the slow paces of changes or pagbabago in the country due to legal obstacles in our current and oppressive constitution.”
Last November 30, in line with the celebration of Bonifacio Day, advocates of revolutionary government conducted nationwide simultaneous rallies in key cities where thousands of Duterte’s supporters assembled.
