Anita’s Bakeshop opens premium line

FOR a bakery business to remain profitable, it has to ride with the changing times.

This is what Anita’s Home Bakeshop Inc. did.

Yesterday, it opened its upscale Anita’s Premium Store located beside the Anita’s Home Bakeshop outlet along Osmeña Blvd.

General manager Benjamin Cabinian said the birth of Anita’s Premium Store is part of the company’s strategy to remain relevant in the bakery business.

“The buying power of Cebuanos has gone up, so we are offering more options for them. Our premium line is our answer to the new taste preferences of consumers, especially the millennials,” said Cabinian.

Anita’s Premium Store is a brand where “exquisite taste is the main focus of the business and where products are made by firm and meticulous pastry chefs.” “Cebuanos are known for their sophisticated taste buds, which make them difficult to please. And we take that challenge by introducing a new set of products.”

“We are known for offering quality products and with the market evolving fast, we don’t want to be inactive or stagnate. Thus, we are bringing in something new for the consumers,” said Cabinian.

The premium store sells cakes, pastries and specialty breads.

Anita’s Home Baskeshop has about 17 branches in Metro Cebu.

The bakeshop, which wants to be known for its “homebaked goodness,” has been operating for 50 years. It was started by Cabinian’s mother, Anita.

Cabinian said the rollout of other Anita’s Premium Store is already in the pipeline. He, however, declined to disclose specific locations on where these stores will be located.

Anita’s Premium Store is also meant to cater to the new breed of consumers who spend more on experiences than things.

He said they made sure the store’s ambiance appeal to the millennials’ taste. The interiors of Anita’s Premium Store are hip and trendy.

Cabinian also disclosed they upgraded the look of all Anita’s Home Bakeshop outlets, making it more vibrant and attractive to all types of customers.

Anita’s Home Bakeshop Inc. employs about 60 workers.
