A SECURITY guard working for the Cebu Provincial Government’s Civil Security Unit was suspended for a month after it was found out that he had abandoned his post at the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) several times last year.
The Committee on Discipline and Investigation (CODI) has ordered Dionaldo Delicano, Security Guard 1, suspended for a month without pay for insubordination.
The decision of the CODI stemmed from a complaint filed by Jonathan Tumulak, CSBT security management officer.
Tumulak said that Delicano has been abandoning his post from September 2016 to January 2017.
After receiving complaints from his colleagues, Tumulak reassigned Delicano at the CSBT administrative office where a closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) can keep an eye on him.
But even with the CCTV, Delicano continued to leave his post.
Tumulak confronted Delicano about the matter, but the latter repeated his offenses.
Delicano, in his counter-affidavit, said he often leaves his post because he was evading orders from another official assigned in the terminal.
He is also often leaves his post because he was reportedly assisting other Capitol personnel assigned in the CSBT.
However, Delicano admitted during a conference with the members of CODI that he sleeps at times while he is at work. (JKV)
