Council condemns attempt to kill Tesda provincial director

THE City Council of Bacolod passed a resolution authored by Councilor Ricardo Tan, condemning in strongest terms, the attempt to assassinate the top official of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) in Negros Occidental.

On December 7, Tesda Provincial Director Julius Sol Jamero was on board his service vehicle when he was waylaid and shot by an unidentified gunman.

He sustained seven gunshot wounds and was brought to a hospital in Bacolod City.

The said incident sent a chilling message that peace and order in Negros Occidental is fast deteriorating.

"We condemn in the strongest terms possible the cowardly act of the assassins in attempting to take the life of Director Jamero who is a good person who has enthusiastically shared his vision to educate the youth, equip them with the necessary skills, and ignite their creativity in order to face life’s present and future challenges," the resolution said.
