Nopsscea leads medal tally

Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational (Nopsscea)-Area 8 kept their lead in the medal tally of the ongoing 2017 Palarong Panlalawigan as of Friday, December 15.

So far, it has gathered 22 gold medals, 16 silvers, and 10 bronze medals.

These include eight golds, nine silvers and six bronze medals in the elementary level and 14 gold medals, seven silvers and four bronze medals in the secondary division.

Nopsscea earned most of their wins from swimming and archery and will be playing in several championships like basketball, football, table tennis, among others.

Area 3 is in second place in the elementary with six golds, five silvers and seven bronze medals followed by Area 6 (6-4-1), Area 4 (3-6-6), Area 2 (2-4-2), Area 7 (2-1-2), Area 1 (2-0-4), and Area 5 (1-2-4).

For the secondary level, trailing at second spot is Bacolod City-Area 7 (10-12-10), Area 5 (4-0-2), Area 3 (2-9-3), Area 2 (2-3-4), Area 6 (2-0-3), Area 1 (1-2-3), Area 4 (0-4-4), and Negros Occidental High School–Area 9 (3 bronze medals).

The week-long event will conclude this weekend. The winning athletes will represent Negros Occidental in the 2018 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet in Iloilo.
