Duterte visits Pakistan Navy ship docked in Manila

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, December 14, went to Manila’s south harbor to visit a Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Saif (FFG-253), a Sword-class missile guided frigate docked at the Pier 15.

Duterte, who was welcomed by officials of the Pakistan Embassy to the Philippines and the Pakistan Navy, had an exclusive tour of the PNS Saif.

“It’s very nice to meet you,” Duterte told Pakistani officials after his tour of the Pakistan’s warship. “You are welcome to drop by anytime, or for any reason. Thank you very much.”

The President was joined by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go.

The PNS Saif will stay in Manila from December 14 to 17 for a three-day goodwill visit.

The naval ship’s port visit seeks to revive and strenghten ties between Pakistan and the Philippines.
