RAINY weather brought about by tropical storm Urduja will not stop the Cebu City Government from releasing tomorrow P134 million worth of financial assistance to senior citizens.
Around 67,000 elderly in 80 villages will get P2,000 each, which covers their financial aid from the City for November and December.
It will be the last tranche of the P12,000 cash aid that the City promised to them this year.
The distribution of financial assistance will be held in the barangays starting 7 a.m.
In the past months, the City released the cash aid on Saturdays but it will be moved to Sunday this time since the City will release today the financial assistance to public school teachers.
For senior citizens who will not be able to get their financial assistance tomorrow, they will be given 10 days to claim the money from the City Treasurer’s Office.
The financial assistance for the elderly is granted by the City to senior citizens who are registered with the Commission on Elections since 2010.
As for the cash aid for the persons with disabilities (PWD), the City will release it on Monday morning in the barangays.
Each will receive P2,000 from the City.
It forms part of the P9,000 cash aid given this year to each of the estimated 10,300 PWDs. (Jaziel Calumpag, USC Intern)
