'Healthy places’ in City of San Fernando named

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Government of San Fernando on Wednesday named the city’s “healthy places” as part of its advocacy to provide Fernandinos a livable environment.

The program, spearheaded by the City Health Office, recognized the top healthy places in the city as grand winners Villa Alfredo’s Resort as the Healthiest Resort, Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital as the Healthiest Hospital and Hotel Victoria de San Fernando as the Healthiest Hotel.

For the Healthy eating place, the grand winners were Susie’s Cuisine (Dolores Branch) for small category; FNC Nathaniel’s for medium category; and The Red Rickshaw for the large category.

The 2017 Healthy workplace grand winners were Emy’s Sweets and Pastries for small category; Mister Donut (Northpoint Inc.) was hailed Hall of Famer for medium category and Pepsi Cola Products Philippines, Inc. for large category.

Lara Integrated School was hailed as grand winner for the Healthy School- small category. While Nuestra Senora Del Pilar Integrated School won for medium category and Pampanga High School for large category.

The winners for Healthy Barangay were Barangay Juliana for small category, Barangay Baliti was awarded as Hall of Famer for medium category and Barangay Telabastagan for large category.

Mayor Edwin Santiago said the search for healthy places is annually held to recognize the establishments and businesses that strictly adheres to the guidelines set by the local government as well as encourage other stakeholders to better the quality of services they provide.

Throughout the year, the Technical Working Group conducts a strict validation which includes series of inspections and deliberations prior to the final assessment during the last quarter.

"This activity sets the direction towards the realization of a healthy and livable city for our beloved Fernandinos and other local tourists who continue to patronize the businesses here. In return, we want to ensure that the consumers are safe and satisfied with the services offered by our investors," Santiago added.

For her part, City Health Officer Dr. Eloisa Aquino congratulated all the winners and advised them to value their recognitions for these also serve as promotions to their respective businesses.
