Pasiawit Part 2

APPEALS. There are public appeals for the Sugboanong Musikero Inc. (SMI) to stage a second part of Pasiawit free concert after the very successful part one of the same show last Dec. 2 in SM Seaside. The SMI board of trustees, headed by Margarito “Gitoy” Ornopia Jr., is yet to discuss this concern.

LUNCH. It was an early Christmas lunch that retired Ambassador Frank Benedicto hosted for close to 30 media colleagues last week with Ambassador Frank Cimafranca as guest of honor. The diplomat has his roots in Aloguinsan and Bohol and presently serves as Assistant Secretary to the Office of Consular Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

PARTY. This Wednesday, there will be a lot of singing, dancing and games when singing businesswoman Hildi “Ate Ging” Montesclaros and her company Happy Hearts Marketing will hold the traditional Christmas party for all dyHP Gabayan Sa Kaayohan drama talents as well as the staff and personnel of dyKC where she also hosts a daily program.

PLAN. A former beauty pageant winner, who asked me not to reveal her identity, is planning to go into local filmmaking. She simply wants to help local filmmakers and actors/actresses get the needed exposure in the local movie business. To me, this is a very commendable move on her part and I hope she will pursue it.

PREXY. I congratulate Dr. Paulus Mariae Cañete, president of the original Mandaue City College, on his election as president of a local commentators’ club named the Sugboanong Komentaristang Nagpakabana or Sukna. (For comments/reactions, text 0932-277-8771.)
