AS A former scholar of Seameo-RELC or the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Language Centre in Singapore where I took up Diploma in Applied Linguistics in 2001 and online tutor and validator of several courses of Seameo-Innotech or the Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization, Innovation and Technology based in the Philippines, I could say that those opportunities became life changing the fact that I learned a lot and was promoted early in my career because of those international exposures.
It is in this premise that I am encouraging those qualified schools to respond to the Call for Applications for the Seameo Schools’ Network in 2017.
The Seameo Secretariat recently announced the “Call for Applications” of the Seameo Schools’ Network in 2017, formerly the Seameo 50×3 Schools’ Network.
As provided in the Seameo website and from the information found in Department of Education (DepEd) Central Office website, the Seameo Schools’ Network aims to improve capacity of administrators, teachers and students through various topics of face-to-face and online Seameo capacity development and training programmes (through Seameo Community Development: Online Lecture Series and Training Programmes) as well as to develop school partnerships across the region through teacher and student’s activities.
There is no limit for membership as all public and private schools/colleges at all levels such as kindergarten, elementary, secondary (JHS and SHS), vocational and technical, and those for special needs education in 11 Southeast Asian countries are invited to join Seameo Schools’ Network.
Another good reason for joining Seameo Schools’ Network is that it is not charging any registration fee for school registrants. Aside from being free, the benefits for educational institutions, administrators, teachers and students are: opportunities for institutional development programs, opportunities for leaders, administrators, and teacher professional development, Opportunities for student development programs, opportunities for participation in international/regional competitions/awards, conferences, seminars, opportunities for cross-country partnership development and collaborative programs on teachers and students exchange and other collaborative activities, opportunities for sharing good practices and resources with other institutions and opportunities to receive news about activities and programs of Seameo Regional Centres. The extended deadline of application is on 29 December 2017.
As provided in the Seameo and DepEd websites, schools/colleges can apply by using the following Online Application Form: http://bit.ly/SEAMEO_School_Network.
For further assistance or inquiries, you can contact Seameo Secretariat at email: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com and their official website: www.seameo.org.
