TALISAY City spikers outplayed Palarong Panlalawigan secondary girls’ champions Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts, 25-17, 21-25 and 25-21 over the weekend to capture the Mayor Tinto Bascon Christmas Volleyball League 2017 Inter-High School Open Girls held in Himamaylan City.
During the Palarong Panlalawigan finals, Tay Tung swept Talisay City-anchored Area 3 for the title.
Other teams which saw action were host-Himamaylan City, Pontevedra, St. John’s Institute, and Living Stones International School.
Jose Montalbo, Tay Tung’s vice president for sports, said his players caught fatigue after more than a month of rigid competitions.
The Thunderbolts began competing last month in the 2017 Nopsscea in Bacolod, 2017 Batang Pinoy in Dumaguete, then Rebisco Girls Volleyball Season 15 National League of Champions at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna. (HGD)
