Man shot dead after ‘spreading fake bills’

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead after he allegedly spread fake bills on Tuesday afternoon, December 19, in Sitio Abante, Barangay General Climaco, Toledo City, Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Robert Glenn Eduyan, who succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head. The victim is a native of San Isidro, Southern Leyte.

Investigators recovered two P500 bills believed to be fake from the victim.

Eduyan's fellow cockfighter James Ronald Malacaste, 24, was wounded during the attack.

Malacaste was near Eduyan when the shooting happened. He was hit in the right portion of his chest.

Police Officer Jonathan Cuizon said Eduyan was possibly targeted by the assailant, who was mad at him for allegedly spreading fake bills.

The gunman left after shooting Eduyan, who did not make it alive to the public hospital.

Malacaste was brought to Vicente Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for treatment. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
