Daghang mga kanasuran sa Uropa, bisan gani sa Espansya, ug sa Amerika ang niila sa same-sex unions. Ang Australia mao ang labing bag-o nga ni-legalize sa same-sex marriage. Wa isulti sa pangulo kon unsaon sa pag-legalize ang same-sex marriage.
Apan dunay duha ka balaudnon bahin niini nga nag-ung-ong sa House of Representatives. Kini mao ang House Bill No. 4982, ang sexual orientation or gender identity or expression equality bill, ug ang House Bill No. 6595, ang civil partnership bill nga nag-ila sa licensed unions sa magtiayon nga LGBTQ. Ang pangutana kon mopasar ba dayon kini sa Kongreso taliwala sa pagsupak sa Simbahang Katoliko ug sa mga relihiyusong pundok.
Sa usa ka pamahayag, si Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes niingon nga ang Simbahang Katoliko di gyud mo-uyon sa same-sex marriage, ilabi na sa legalization niini. “The trivialization of marriage is one of the fundamental reasons for the breakdown of individuals and human society,” matod pa niya.
Ang kaminyuon, matod niya, gitumong sa procreation, sa paghimog bata. “The main great purpose is procreation of children and building a loving family, the basic unit of human society, which is also the domestic church.
