CH finalizes donation to Surigao del Norte town

CEBU City Mayor Tomas Osmeña yesterday signed the deed of donation between the City Government and quake-battered San Francisco, Surigao del Norte.

The City is extending P2 million worth of financial assistance and one ambulance unit to the municipality, which an earthquake struck last Feb. 10.

“That’s already really valuable to them because their internal revenue allotment is only P1 million a year. I’m glad that it’s something that they can really find useful,” Osmeña said.

In a separate interview, San Francisco Mayor Guia Sabanal said they will use the cash aid to repair their gym.

She said they need around P5 million to improve the facility. “I personally came here because we’re excited about the donation.

This is really a big help for us and we are really grateful,” she said. (RTF)
