"The Philippine Sports Commission will be very busy next year especially in Mindanao since we are intensifying our Children's Games which is the brainchild of Chairman himself William 'Butch' Ramirez. We conduct a series of consultative meetings of different LGU's and then we have different events. We are planning to revive the Mindanao Friendship Games last conducted back in 2008. We are going very busy in coming year," ni Maxey.
Dugang niya, "In Mindanao Friendship Games, we initially listed 12 events, athletics and swimming included in events. But considering very hectic schedule in Mindanao next year. Seguro yung Mindanao Friendship games, we will stage later part of the year. Ang sabi ni Chairman, we had last meeting in Manila na gawin ang MFG in first quarter but mukhang mahirap considering na maraming events we're going to stage."
Sumala pa sa Dabawenyong commissioner nga adtoan nila ang mga lugar nga wala pa gihimo ang Children's Games ilabina ang siyudad Marawi. "We're going to Mati, Kidapawan yung mga lugar na di namin napuntahan and consultative and coaches meeting and sports scienve under Philippine Sports Institute."
"Ang Marawi is one of the places initially na puntahan namin for Children's Games, nakaplano na. The trauma especially sa mga kids during the war, di yun mawala sa kanila so we really have to involve the Marawi kids. There part of the Philippines and our hearts belongs in Marawi kids. This is kids have right to play so we are moving about that seguro in first quarter of 2018."
Gawas niini, duna sab silay laing aktibidad himuon. "We have events especially Araw ng Dabaw Celebration in March. We're still finalizing this events but we're eyeing Diving and Open Water Swimming. For the first time, it will stage in Mindanao particular in Davao City. So we are eyeying this two events. As you know the water diving is Olympic event and of course diving will going to revive since the time Sheila Mae Perez nawala po yung Diving in Davao even in the Philippine. We're still eyeing the venue for competition," matud ni Maxey.
