THE Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Lady Blue Knights emerged champion in the Youth Invitational Volleyball League (VIVL) Senior's League that came to a close recently at the Addu Martin Hall gym along Jacinto Street, Davao City.
The Lady Blue Knights scored a 25-16, 25-22, 11-25, 25-22 win over the University of Mindanao (UM) in the finals. They will advance to the VIVL Mindanao Finals slated in 2018.
Ateneo will test their mettle in the Mindanao Finals against teams from Tagum City, Cagayan de Oro City, General Santos City and two other challengers from Davao City.
Meanwhile, San Pedro College survived past St. John Paul II of Davao, 25-14, 19-25, 25-15, in the battle for third to secure the bronze medal.
Addu's Francesca De Rosas was named most valuable player (MVP) while her teammates Audrey Shovie Nierra and Catherine Jane Santos were hailed best libero and best setter, respectively.
UM's Lycha Ebon (best attacker) and Kharen Grace Napal (best blocker) also romped away with titles.
Catherin Bolonos of John Paul II College of Davao, for her part, was best server while San Pedro Colleges' Nicole Kate Bacamante got the best digger award.
Jerelou Kyla Deiparine took the best receiver award in the league sanctioned by the Balibolista de Dabaw.
