No 'cracker injuries as of Christmas Day

DAVAO City retained its record of zero firecracker-related incident and indiscriminate firing as of Christmas Dat.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum attributed this to the intense security monitoring of security forces on the ground and the cooperation of the public for heeding the city ordinance that prohibits firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.

"The strong leadership of the City Mayor who has the full support of all Peace and Order, and Security Units based in Davao City, any social deviants will have second thoughts before they commit crimes," he said.

Police visibility was also strengthened by DCPO along with other law enforcement agencies especially in areas of convergence like churches, malls and terminals.

Maximum deployment of personnel was also implemented to ensure the safety of the public.

"DCPO with other local partners from other law enforcement and security forces are on top of the situation and monitoring enemy movements in our AOR. We're on full alert and have maximized our security deployment also with augmentation from PRO 11," Tagum said.
