THE receiving area for donations for flood victims has been transferred to Task Force Davao headquarters at Sta. Ana Pier.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio bared this yesterday in a press briefing, saying that the City Hall will not be a viable place for accepting donations since its function as regular office resumed on Wednesday, December 27.
"The relief, repacking and dispatching is now at Task Force Davao, so those who are interested to help and donate they can go to Task Force Davao to drop of their donations," she said.
She said that donations accepted at the TF Davao headquarters will be distributed to affected families on December 30 and 31.
Duterte-Carpio said that they have a master list of all those who donated since the city also wants to thank these donors.
She added that the city is also set to distribute financial assistance from the calamity fund worth P83.4 million to the affected families.
The city government allotted P3.570 million for the 357 families whose houses were destroyed and P1.665 million financial assistance for the 333 families whose houses were damaged.
Families with totally damaged house will receive P10,000 each while those whose houses were partially damaged will receive P5,000 each.
A total of P57.930 million for P3,000 worth separate financial assistance to 19,310 families affected by flood was also allotted.
Another P20.235 million was earmarked for the food assistance, medicines and relief goods.
This breakdown was based on the official document submitted by the Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) to the City Mayor's Office.
Duterte-Carpio said that they placed buffer to the list since they anticipated that some families were not listed due to circumstances.
Meanwhile, the Ateneo de Davao University is accepting cash donations for its relief operations for the flood victims.
